“A Future Western ignited emotions of visceral fear within myself and it did it well.”

The work which critics called “Hard to watch…required an abundance of emotional fortitude as an audience member”- Lydia Shamoun’s A Future Western explores classic western themes such as revenge, power, redemption, and love to seek what lies at the core of the instinctual self. In a society where organized authority lacks real power, one is forced to turn a blind eye toward lawless individuals. Without a formal moral construct, how does one determine what is just? How far is a man willing to go in order to pursue personal justice? In a future where one’s actions are of little consequence, this performance examines the limitations of one’s own morality. This multidisciplinary performance includes a live DJ set and original sound scoring by Drew Lewis and film and graphics by Sierra Hendrix.
